Management System Audits

Safety Audits provide a detailed analysis of the effectiveness of an OHS Management System in identifying and controlling hazards, and preventing injury and loss.

Utilising the criteria specified in AS4801 / OHSAS18001, audits include the following elements:

1.Identification of the specific entity and scope of work to be audited.
2.Review of contractual obligations pertaining to the entity being audited
3.Review of OHS and other Management Plans (ie: Emergency Response) prepared by the entity being audited
4.Kick-off meeting
5.Review of other relevant safety documentation, including (but not limited to): Risk Registers, Work Procedures / SMWS, Training Records, Equipment Registers, Inspection Records, Incident and Performance Reports.
6.Interviews with site management & supervision
7.Site discussion with trades & labour personnel
8.Site inspection and observation of work activities
9.Report preparation, inclusive of findings and recommendations
10.Report presentation, summary of key findings, exit & close-out meeting

Requirements:

One (1) week prior to scheduled on-site commencement, client is requested to provide consultant with the following information / documents:

•Name of Entity to be audited
•Scope of work which entity is contracted to perform
•Copy of Safety Specification as contained in contract for work-scope
•Copy of Safety Management Plan applicable to work scope.

During the audit, the client is requested to provide a fully inducted and knowledgeable escort (Supervisor, Manager or Safety Advisor) and make nominated personnel available for interview.

At completion of the audit, the client is requested to schedule a debrief meeting with site management to enable formal presentation of the report. 

A minimum of 1 hour should be allowed for this meeting.
